“Embark Grant recipient Calcagno Cullen will be showing new works in My Heart is a Telephone.  From first impressions to forming familial daily rituals, My Heart is a Telephone explores the act of relating to others. The pieces are multi-media, utilizing the experiences, images, and rituals of real people to connect them with the viewers. The work defines humanity as the building of relationships. Some pieces revel in nostalgia, embracing traditional modes of communication, while others examine our current state and question technology’s growing role in building and sustaining relationships.”
